“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”

Good morning readers and happy new year! I hope everyone had a great night ringing in 2017! My night wasn’t all that I expected, but I can say that 2016 taught me more about myself right down to the final minute!

On this beautiful Monday morning, I am excited for the week and yearย ahead! I have so many goals and plans! But what’s most exciting to me is the unknown! My mind is always full of wonder at the beginning of a new year.

Yesterday was the first day of the #plankPOPparty on Instagram! It’s a POP Pilates challenge I’m hosting with a few other POPsters that includes 28 days of different plank variations. If you’ve never done an insta fitness challenge, I invite you to tryย one this year! There is always one going on. In fact, usually multiples! They are full of fun and new friends. Plus you get to try new workout moves and yoga poses!

And actually, today is the first day of the 28 Day Reset Challenge from Blogilates! Cassey has challenged us to 28 days of no gluten, dairy, added sugar, processed foods, and alcohol! To be honest, I generally avoid many foods included in the added sugar, processed foods, and alcohol categories, but it will be interesting with no dairy or gluten! The idea is to reset your body and figure out what foods make your body feel good and which foods don’t. I’m very interested to see how my body reacts!

January is going to be a very funย month!

Aside from the usual goals of growing physically and mentally, and staying on track with my fitness, my 2017 goals include:

  1. Blogging more!
I want to write more about fitness, health, and lifestyle! I love sharing my opinions and advice!
  2. Vlogging more!
Last year I really got into vlogging with PIIT28 and I had a total blast! I would love to be more active on YouTube.
  3. Being more active in the Blogilates/POP Pilates community!
Last year, I went through a lot personally. I took many breaks from social media and fitness because I needed space and time. This year, I want to be more involved with the lives of the people I follow!

But most of all, I want to live to make myself happy!

I spent a majority of last year enslaved to jobs I was unhappy with, being around people I was unhappy with, and living in a situation I wasn’t happy with. When finally, I decided enough was enough! I found a way out and I took it!

This year I want to focus entirely on happiness and I am going to be bold about it!

What are your goals for the new year?

Whatever they may be, be sure to include some fun. Have your big goals, your serious goals, your have to do goals, and your life changing goals. But also have your silly goals, your fun goals, your crazy goals, and your happiness goals!

You deserve to be happy and YOU are in control.

This year, 2017, live a little.

No regrets.

Cheers to a new year,

  1. I love this post so much! I’m also determined to make January 2016 a month of strong starts to change. After I discovered that my lost menstrual cycle (which has been gone for almost three years) had more consequences than simply infertility, I realized that it was time for me to change my extremely intensive and rigid exercise routine as well as gaining muscle mass and changing my diet too. It’s going to be really ironic for me because everyone else will be trying to lose weight, all while I’m doing the opposite!

    • My mother is doing the same thing actually! Her body is very sensitive to certain foods and it has caused her to lose too much weight because of what her body can/can’t handle. Her goal this year is to gain weight and muscle mass! Many people are on the same path. I would look on Instagram for others trying to gain weight! I’m sure it would be an inspiration!
