Dear POPsters

“Be the change you want to see in the world.”

Dear POPsters,

As the year comes to a close and all the traditional feels start, the reflection on the good and the bad, the regrets and hopes for both the old year and the new, and honestly in some moments, the insanity all the feelings cause, I find myself asking the question, What would I do without my fellow POPsters?

Every day it warms my heart to know that I get to wake up to 3 million other socialites with the same goal as me. To be the healthiest and happiest versions of ourselves while uplifting one another to be the same.

It’s amazing, the bond we 3 million strangers have. I find you all to be better friends than any I’ve ever had in real life. It’s a magical connection. I guess that’s what happens when so many people have the same interests and goals. But I think the most magical part about it is that, unlike a typical group of common interest strangers, we aren’t tearing each other down to get to where we want to be, we are lifting one another up because we all want to see each other succeed.

It’s beautiful.

And as I reflect on this year in it’s entirety, even in my most anxious moments, I had you all to turn to. Because let’s be real with each other…our social media posts only ever tell half our story. We all struggle, but choose not to show it all the time. But even when I wasn’t brave enough to share my struggles publicly, I did privately, and with some of you.

The days I felt discouraged, fat, useless, anxious, depressed, insane, not good enough, etc. I’d message a POPster and say, hey…can we talk? And they always had something good to say that would slap me out of the bad days I was having and give me that much needed reality check.

So what I wanted to say to you in this blog post is,

THANK YOU.

I am so blessed to be a part of this sparkly community of beautiful souls! Each and every one of you make my days brighter and my years greater. You add so much value to my life.

I know that with each new year comes weight loss goals and diet commitments. It is easy to become discouraged about the way you look and the way you feel about yourself. It’s an annual trend. But I challenge you all in this new year to instead commit to happiness, helping one another, AND helping yourselves. Shine bright like the awesome POPster that you are! Work out because you love it and eat clean because it makes you feel good! Show the world in this new year that we aren’t a societal trend, but a lifestyle for the greater good! Help yourselves the way you help others. The way you’ve helped me!

I want this blog post to be a thank you, but also a reminder of how special you are. You have so much to offer to this community, to each other, to yourselves and to the world, and we are all here by your side.

Let’s rock 2017 POPsters!

Much love to you all,

Blogibabe

  1. Dear Abbie,

Thank you so much for sharing this blogpost. It really made me smile from the very first words to the last. I love the way you describe the community in which we all post our pictures and progress. As a beginning Popster (only started 2 weeks ago!) I can find strength in your blog.
You sound like a really kind, fun and lovely person! I am definitely reading more.
For now, I just had to comment and thank you for this inspirational and motivational message.
I am truly a happier person today because of you.
