“Either you run the day or the day runs you.”
Have you ever woken up with that awful feeling that today is going to be “one of those days”? Or, on the flip side, have you ever woken up with that motivating feeling that today is a new day and you are ready to rock it’s socks off? You may think that you have no control over your first thoughts in the morning because well…you were just asleep for what hopefully was enough hours and all you can think is, ‘Oh! I’m awake!’. BUT even if that is the first thought on everyone’s mind when their eyes first open in the morning, shouldn’t that automatically put you in the BEST mood. We should be thankful to be alive and well! My point is, you actually do control your first thoughts because your attitude is in charge of the quality of each moment, each hour, and each day of your entire life!
I have this motto for life and it goes like this…Change your mind about it. I have another one and it really follows up the first…Love your life or lose your mind. Those two thoughts keep me motivated and keep me positive! If you’re having what you think is a “bad day” change your mind about it! If life feels like a giant mess, don’t hate it, choose to love it anyway or else you’re only going to lose your mind!
I believe happiness is a choice. Going along with all you’ve been told about happiness not being found in things or people, living in a material world, etc…it’s true! I am guilty of being one of those people who thinks “when this certain thing happens or when I get this certain thing, I will be happy” but let me tell you something…it never works!
Happiness can be found in each and every day if you make the choice to find it! Letting your circumstances or negative thoughts control you will only make you miserable.
So who’s running who today? Make the choice!
I work six days a week and anywhere from 40 to 60 hours! I could get stuck in a rut of a routine by waking up, eating, working, sleeping, and doing it all over again the next day. My life could get boring real quick if I let it. I could be really miserable if I wanted to be. BUT I don’t! So I make the choice not to be!
You can either let the days go by or live each one with enthusiasm!
